Mention slack groups in slack messages
Do you use the mabl Slack integration to notify specific channels when tests fail? Are those channels used by multiple teams where not everybody is involved with mabl testing? Is message volume high and messages about failing tests sometimes go unnoticed?
A little while ago we introduced the ability to mention specific users in slack messages:
https://help.mabl.com/changelog/mention-specific-slack-users-in-slack-messages
You can now configure mabl to mention specific groups in Slack notifications.
Configuration
Your slack workspace owner or administrators can setup slack user groups.

If groups are set up, when you add or edit a Slack integration, you'll see a new Mention groups field where you can select user groups from your Slack workspace.

New Slack scope required: usergroups:read
The ability to fetch Slack users requires a new scope usergroups:read for each mabl/Slack integration. mabl will request this scope for any new Slack integrations created from mabl.
Existing Slack integrations
Existing integrations will continue to function with no action on your part, but the "Mention groups" field will be disabled. To take advantage of this new functionality, please, re-create the integration so that new permission is granted.
Message examples
Once Slack user groups are configured, all messages that are posted from mabl will include @mention. An example of the message that gets posted when the plan run starts and fail:
